The Athens-Belpre Rail Trail Steering Committee is a community organization working to acquire right-of-way along the B&O corridor and promote trail development in cooperation with Athens and Washington County officials.

Athens Bicycle Club formed in 1971 and offers opportunities to network with other cyclists via club meetings, electronic communications, events and rides.

Blennerhassett Bicycle Club is comprised of cyclists of all ages and skill levels. The club promotes community, social, training and competitive bicycling events, and supports bicycle advocacy and charitable programs in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Club members come from the cities of Parkersburg, Marietta, Vienna, Belpre, Williamstown and other nearby places.

The mission of the City of Athens Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee's (CABPAC) is to promote public health, safety, and sustainable transportation through making walking and bicycling use safe and accessible. We will achieve this through legislation, planning and education.

The Hockhocking Adena Bikeway Advisory Committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at The Community Center in Athens. All meetings are open to the public. For general information: lwatkins@ci.athens.oh.us

The Moonville Rail Trail Association is a non-profit organization, which was established in April, 2001 in order to build and maintain the muscle-powered Moonville Rail Trail system. The Moonville Rail Trail will extend from Red Diamond, which is near the Village of Zaleski, through the hills of Vinton County, and end in scenic Athens County near Grosvener. This will be a trail system that will connect to the Athens County Hockhocking Adena Bikeway.
